The Hour: Westport Rotary to Help Haiti

The leader of the United Nations Association visited the Rotary Club Tuesday.

Tom Miller, president and CEO of the United Nations Association, a nonprofit membership organization that works to mobilize Americans in support of the United Nations, spoke to about 60 Westport Rotarians Tuesday.

He talked about the internal problems that have plagued poverty-stricken Haiti for decades, which are taking a toll on many Haitians still struggling to survive since a magnitude-7.0 earthquake devastated the capital of Port-au-Prince last week, killing an estimated 200,000 people. 

The Westport Rotary Club pledged to contribute to the relief efforts in monetary donations and in prayer.
