The Westport Fire Department responds to about 4,000 calls for assistance per year, ranging from simple motor vehicle lockouts, animal rescues, emergency medical calls and all types of regular service calls, to structure fires with entrapment. The firefighters and officers of the fire department provide a wide range of services, including:
Responding to serious incidents.
Visiting schools to teach fire safety.
Educating the public about services available to them through the fire department and other local utilities.
Visiting occupancies to enforce fire codes and provide safety information and training.
