TAG Teen Awareness Group
Every 48 minutes someone in the United States is killed in an alcohol related automobile accident. It is feared that students do not feel this is an important issue considering the many admissions to riding in a car with a drunk driver made over the years by Staples High School students. The Teen Awareness Group (TAG) stresses how important it is not to become a statistic.

TAG is a student facilitated group led by adult advisors Chris Lemone, LPC (Department of Human Services SHS Student Outreach Counselor) and Elaine Daignault (Coordiantor of Youth Services for the Town of Westport). The group is designed to identify the various harmful and compromising situations many young people will face during their adolescent years, and attempts to raise awareenss and promote healthy social decision making.

TAG members consist of an alliance of young people with diverse beliefs and opinions, from all backgrounds and social groups, dedicated to working together in an effort to realize the options available to teenagers. Our goal is to reach out to as many of our peers as possible. TAG enters into its 13th year of existance with the start of the 2012-2013 school year.
