Take the Earth Month Neighbor to Neighbor Energy Challenge

In the spirit of Earth Month, the Neighbor to Neighbor Energy Challenge is challenging local homeowners to not just talk about a better environment, but to take action to create a more sustainable future for Fairfield County.

In Connecticut, more than half of the state’s greenhouse gas pollution comes from heating and powering our homes and businesses. We are just some of the many residents who participate in the challenge to improve our environment by making smart energy upgrades like adding insulation and air sealing. These changes also make for a more comfortable home that saves energy and money.

The best way to get started is through a Home Energy Solutions assessment (HES).  This visit is a four-hour home assessment with on-the-spot improvements – a $750 value for only $75.  With homeowners throughout our region wasting energy and money due to leaks and cracks in their homes, the HES assessment offers the perfect solution by showing where a home is losing energy and how much money and emissions can be saved by making the recommended upgrades.

As temperatures steadily climb, it’s important that as we cool our homes this spring and summer, we do so as efficiently as possible. But signing up for Home Energy Solutions not only allows you to improve the comfort of your home, it also grants you access to countless state incentives and rebates that will allow you to further invest in your home.

So take action and set an example starting with your own home. Together we can lead by example and work with our friends, family and neighbors to take steps to create a more sustainable future.
