Community Corner

Kids

—High
school students from all over Fairfield County will assemble for an evening of
musical performances at Fairfield Theater Company’s StageOne, Theatre on June 4th.  There will be great food and drinks, as well
as an auction and raffle, all to benefit Child
Advocates of Connecticut
to help abused and neglected children from our
area.  History Detectives’ Elyse Luray
will be the guest auctioneer for the evening.

Liza Rebold,
of Weston, and Jeremy Platt of Westport, are co-chairs and organizers of this
all student–run event.  “We were so excited to plan this night of music,
featuring the talents of students from all neighboring towns to raise money for
Child Advocates of Connecticut.  CAC represents 14 towns in the area and our
performers span 12 of those towns, so it really is kids helping kids in their
own community, “ says Ms. Rebold.

The
evening performances include music by Harbor Blues, Beachside Express, JT
Becker, Clay Garner, Ben Gott, Lulu Simon and many more.  “There will be
incredible singers, bands and musicians,” Liza says.  “It is a wonderful
opportunity to showcase a variety of great young talent and raise money for an
organization that is doing such important work for local children in need of
help. Many people do not realize that
in our own backyards there are lots of vulnerable kids in need of love.  I am very proud to be part of an event like
this."
