Photo Gallery: Docs Rock in Tribute to Heroes
Do Not Resuscitate, a band of doctors, played the Levitt Pavilion to benefit emergency responders on Sept. 11.
Do Not Resuscitate (DNR), a local band comprised of several doctors, rocked the Levitt Pavilion on Saturday night in a tribute to emergency responders. All proceeds from the Sept. 11 concert went to the Westport Emergency Medical Services.
"I have a social responsibility as a businessman to give back to society," said Paul Teoh, owner of Matsu Sushi and sponsor of the event. "We are proud that we can be associated with the Levitt. "
"People in Westport are friendly," he added. "All of the doctors in the band and many of their patients are our customers. We feel like this is our community."

DNR formed in 2002, when a group of four musically-inclined physicians got together in a friend's garage to play rock music. Slowly, individual musicians were added and the band gradually evolved into its current eight member status but has remained true. Because many of the band members are doctors by day and musicians at night, the name "Do Not Resuscitate" appealed to their macabre sense of humor.
