In Westport, Business As Usual Despite Snowfall

Schools are in session Tuesday, and the Y and library are open as the county faces a winter weather advisory.

Though the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for Fairfield County through 6 p.m. Tuesday—with ice and up to four inches of snow expected—Westport schools and community organizations are operating as usual.

School is in session here, though district officials said Tuesday morning that they’re working out some difficulties with the phone number (203-341-1766) parents and others may call for updates on early dismissals or cancellations. (Districts in our coastal county towns are handling things differently: Darien cancelled school today while in Stamford, kids are going home early.)

Westport Public Library and the Westport Weston Family Y both are operating on normal hours, officials at those organizations say.
