Westport Scientist Gets Commendation From Queen Elizabeth
Westport resident Alan G. Walton received the honor during a ceremony held Dec. 4 at Buckingham Palace, according to a report in the Westport News.
Westport resident and bioscience business executive Alan G. Walton has reportedly been awarded Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth.
Walton, who has dual British and U.S. citizenship, was one of 75 people to receive the honor during a ceremony held Dec. 4 at Buckingham Palace, according to a report in the Westport News.

Walton, 76, is senior general partner of Oxford Bioscience Partners, a Boston-based venture partnership that invests in life science companies, according to the report, citing a news release.
The native of Birmingham, England has reportedly held academic positions at several institutions, including Harvard Medical School, Indiana University and Case Western Reserve University.
