Celebrate the First Night of Chanukah with the Launching of the Jewish Community Library

CHABAD OF WESTPORT LAUNCHES JEWISH COMMUNITY LIBRARY, Dec. 1, 4pm
On Wednesday, December 1, on the first night of ChanukaH, Chabad of Westport will open its doors to a Jewish Community Library. "What better way to light up the night, then with new opportunities for education and connection to one's heritage", says Dina Kantor, co-Director of Chabad of Westport.  The library is hosted at JSpace, the Chabad Community Center on 20 Ketchum Street in Westport, and will host author visits, mother daughter book clubs, community book reads , and storytelling with activities for children. On it's opening day--Wednesday, December 1st at 4 pm--the library will feature children's storybook author, Amalia Hoffman, with a read of her book, The Klezmer Bunch.  The book is a delightful story about four traveling klezmer musicians, who pack all their instruments and their goat, Masha, in a baby carriage to play at a wedding in a far-away village.  When the carriage takes off by itself and rolls from village to village, oy vey, oy vey, only a sweet klezmer song can save the day. Along with her puppet and presentation, children will receive Chanukah chocolate coins, dreidels and latkes.  The Klezmer Bunch will be available for sale and for a book signing.  The event will culminate with a public Menorah Lighting.  For more information on the library, or the Chanukah event, please call the Chabad office at 203 226 8584, or log on to our website, www.chabadofwestport.com
