Indulge by Mersene Relocates to Railroad Place in Westport

Indulge by Mersene, has relocated her boutique gift shop to 24 Railroad Place.

Stepping in to Indulge by Mersene, a new boutique gift shop at 24 Railroad Place, is a sensory experience.

You are overtaken with a lovely scent; pine, berry, cinnamon; the walls are brimming with curios from collectibles to fun trinkets from around the world; and then there’s the baskets, overflowing with gifts and sentiments culled by designer and shop owner Mersene Norbom.

Mersene grew up in Mississippi, then traveled the world, including Tokyo and Indonesia.  Her gifts reflect a beautiful blend of Southern hospitality, extraordinary Japanese presentation, and French European Sophistication.

Mersene’s baskets are assembled fresh for each individual recipient, and when given it is as if you just received a basket from your mother, sister, or best friend.  And, in a way, you have.  Mersene carefully places each piece in the basket with the recipient in mind.

“My baskets are personal, the items are hand-selected based on the conversations I have with the giver.  I want to know who is getting this basket, what they love or need in their life, and I make sure that each basket is unique so that it is never forgotten,” said Mersene Norbom, owner and President of Indulge by Mersene.  “Giving a gift is very personal.  We want the recipient to be wowed, and to remember who gave that extraordinary gift.”

This season Mersene has curated a very unique basket, something everyone can use.  The Centerpiece Basket has everything you need for your holiday table centerpiece, including the burlap runner, candles, pine cones, twigs, and greenery.

Priced at $99 it’s a chic and sophisticated gift that is also very practical.  The Centerpiece Basket also comes with a one-page on the many ways you can use the elements in the future, plus a hand drawn illustration by illustrator Geoff Mosher.  For the decorating impaired, this is a unique touch. Who doesn’t want a gorgeous holiday table?  But Mersene says it’s much more than just a centerpiece, it’s your dining room table for all seasons.

“Just add holiday touches, any holiday, and take away anything that seems off for that holiday, and you will be using the elements in this basket for years to come.  You can decorate your home with everything in this basket.  It’s the best deal in town,” she says with her Southern drawl.

The holidays are upon us and gifting in our laps.  Take a detour to 24 Railroad Place, or stop in on your way home from work and pick up a lovely something for that someone special.  Your gift will be a standout and don’t be surprised if you’ve found a new home for all your seasonal gifting needs.
