The Memorial Day parade in Westport on Monday attracted everyone from Little Leaguers to Rotarians, emergency service personnel, town officials and marching bands.

The theme of this year's Memorial Day Parade was "A Salute to Our Defenders of Freedom
- The "Veterans of Foreign Wars" float received the "Best Developement of a Theme" award.
- The "Boy Scouts" received the "Best Youth Organization Float" award.
- The "Most Creative Float" award went to the "VFW Auxiliary Andy Knapp-1965 Huey Hellicopter Float."
- The "Saugatuck Congregational Church" was awarded the "Best Community Organization Float" award.
- The "Most Colorful Float" award went to "Sunday Farmers."
- And again this year! The "Best Overall Float" award goes to "The Y's Men of Westport/Weston."
