Blotter: Early Morning DUIs

Police reports from March 13

The following arrest information was provided by the Westport Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

  • Joanne Monroe, 49, of Trumbull, was arrested on March 13 at 3:05 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and having broken rear marker lamps. According to the police, Monroe was seen traveling westbound on Charles Street when he was seen with a defective marker light. She was pulled over and the officer detected an odor of alcohol on her breath. She failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. Monroe’s bail was set at $500 and she is scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk on March 21.
  • Matthew Deppe, 28, of Kings Highway North, was arrested on March 13 at 7:21 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to obey a control signal. According to the report, officers were told that there was a person slumped over a vehicle steering wheel at the intersection of Saugatuck Avenue and Riverside Avenue. Police found Deppe sleeping at the wheel. When he woke up, officers reported that he was unsteady on his feet and had an odor of alcohol on his breath. He failed sobriety tests and was arrested. Deppe’s bail was set at $500 and he is scheduled to appear in State Superior Court in Norwalk on March 24.
