Blotter: Strolling Compo Beach With Vodka, Heroin

Police reports from March 2-6.

The following arrest information was provided by the Westport Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

A Norwalk teen strolling along Compo Beach with an female minor was arrested on numerous drug charges on March 4 at 4:45 p.m. According to police, an officer saw a vehicle unattended in the parking lot. In plain view was an open vodka bottle and two shot glasses in the center console.

Later, the officer found Brandon Roe, 19, walking with the juvenile female. A search of the vehicle revealed a syringe with three folds of heroin. The girl was released on the scene to her father, and Roe was charged with possession of narcotics, risk of injury to a child, possession of alcohol by a minor and drug paraphernalia.  Roe’s bail was set at $1,000 and he is scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk on March 16.

Other Arrests

A Norwalk woman was arrested on a drunken driving charge on March 2 after she flipped over her car in an accident. According to police, Claudia Munoz, 20, of Norwalk, rolled over her car on Newtown Turnpike and Twin Oaks Lane. While investigating the accident, police detected an odor of alcohol on Munoz’ breath. She failed field sobriety tests and was arrested. Munoz’ bail was set at $500 and she is scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk on March 14.

Lorraine Maass, 47, of Norwalk, was arrested on March 4 at 1:32 p.m. on a charge of failure to pay or plead. An officer ran a computer check on Maass’ vehicle and saw that there was a warrant for her arrest. Her bail was set at $500 and she is scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk on March 14.

Tamara Kelly, 36, of Bridgeport, was arrested on March 4 at 4:45 p.m. on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to drive right. According to the report, Kelly turned herself in. In December, she allegedly struck a pole on Clapboard Hill Road while drunk. Kelly’s bail was set at $2,500 and she is scheduled to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk on March 14.

A pair of sisters was arrested during a domestic dispute at a Kings Highway North home on March 6. Jaqui Ham, 54, and Helen Clement, 56, were both charged with disorderly conduct and released on a promise to appear in state Superior Court in Norwalk on March 7.
