Norwalk Accident Causes Power Outage in Westport

All back online except for 15 residents, which is due to a separate outage this morning.

Connecticut Light and Power reports that 15 residents in the area of Tomahawk Lane in Westport are without power this morning due to a down wire.

That's a separate issue from the 75 who lost power from about midnight until 8 a.m., said spokesman Mitch Gross.

A car crashed into a utility pole on Wolf Pitt Avenue in Norwalk, which caused about 1,000 Norwalk residents and 75 Westporters to lose power. Gross said the pole had to be replaced and power was restored by 9 a.m. Details on the accident were not known.

The Tomahawk Lane outage was the result of a down wire, which Gross said was being fixed. He did not have an estimated time for power to be restored in that area.
