Photos: Library's Holiday Book Sale Kicks Off

Giving the gift of knowledge for just a few dollars.

It's that time of the year again. The weather is cold, the holidays are here and the Westport Public Library is offerings its ninth annual holiday book sale.

"We had over 40 people waiting in line even with these cold temperatures when we opened today. More than past years," said Mimi Greenlee, the lead organizer for the sale. "We started gathering books over six months ago and we have over 2,500 pristine books for sale. Because of the economy, this is a great opportunity to give a gift at a reasonable price."

Unlike the massive summer sale, the holiday sale is done on a much smaller scale. However, the books, DVDs and CDs are in pristine condition, making them perfect gifts.
