The house seems ripe for a teardown, but the New York Times suggests a "vertical expansion."

A $4.6 million featured in The New York Times." Taxes, the article notes, come in at $30,000 a year and the house is within walking distance of Longshore.

What makes the 3,000-square-foot home unique, according to the article, is that there's a zoning exception that would allow the owners to expand vertically by 40 feet, "increasing the house’s views of Long Island Sound."

The ranch, which was built in 1948, already has "unobstructed views" of Compo Cove and the Long Island Sound, but some additional expansion would apparently make Cockenoe Island visible.
