What's Open, What's Closed for Memorial Day Weekend

As the parade marches through town, many things will be closed.

Memorial Day, May 30, is a holiday for federal, state and local governments and just about everybody else in the United States. The begins Monday at 9 a.m. in front of Saugatuck Elementary School on Riverside Avenue. It ends at Town Hall, with speech at Veteran's Green.

  • Banks have the option of staying open on state and federal holidays in Connecticut. 
  • Westport Town Hall offices are closed.
  • Public schools are closed.
  • Libraries: will be closed Sunday and Monday.
  • Post offices close on Monday.
  • State offices, including Department of Motor Vehicles offices, will be closed on Monday. DMV offices will be open Friday, but only from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., according to the department.

The following are OPEN over the weekend and on Monday:

  • Restaurants
  • Grocery stores
