JoyRide Cycling Studio Hosts “Stop, Drop and Spin” Fundraiser to Fight Lung Disease

JoyRide Cycling Studio will host a calorie-torching fundraiser, called Stop, Drop and Spin, on Saturday, October 27 at 4 p.m., to benefit the Westport Fire Department’s efforts to raise money for lung disease research.  All proceeds from the JoyRide event will benefit the American Lung Association (ALA).  JoyRide and the Westport Fire Department are recruiting members of the community and supporters to sign up for the event and help make a difference in the fight against lung disease.  Participants can sign up in advance to work out alongside a local hero during an endorphin-fueled indoor cycling class or Go Figure’s Figure Method class.  A minimum donation of $30 is required to participate.

"The Westport Fire Department provides an incredible amount of tireless support to our community, and we are honored to help them raise money for a cause close to their hearts and lungs!” said Rhodie Lorenz (Westport, Conn.), co-owner and lead instructor of JoyRide Cycling Studio, who will lead the 60-minute indoor cycling ride.  "This event is an excellent opportunity to bring our town together for a worthwhile cause in an enthusiastic and motivating way!"

To sign up for the fundraiser, please visit: http://www.joyridestudio.com/events.cfm. There is a link on the event page to make your donation to the Westport Fire Departments fund raising page.

This is the fifth year that the firefighters have raised money for the American Lung Association by participating in their Stair Climb, which takes place November 3 in Stamford, Conn.

"We are very grateful to JoyRide Studio for hosting a fundraiser for out Stair Climb Team, and we hope to make this an annual event!" said Firefighter Ben Racho, Captain of the Stair Climb Team for the Westport Fire Department.
