Downunder Staff Salutes Earth Day

What:  In recognition of the power of millions of individuals’ actions - Earth Day 2011 salutes A Billion Acts of Green®.   In appreciation of their new paddling environment on the Saugatuck River in Westport, the Downunder staff will join together for a river cleanup on Earth Day.  In light of the cold water paddling conditions, only Downunder staff (wearing wetsuits or drysuits) will participate in the cleanup.  Downunder has a close relationship with Earthplace and Harborwatch as well as the Saugatuck River Watershed Partnership.  And mark your calendar - an educational paddle with Sally Harold, Director of the Saugatuck River Watershed Partnership is being planned for June 5th at 11am, departing from Downunder and paddling upriver to the dam. 

When: Earth Day, Friday, April 22, 2011   Time: 3:30pm.

Where:  Public Boat Launch on Bridge Street/Route 136 towards Compo, Underhill Parkway, directly opposite Downunder’s new Westport location at 575 Riverside Ave.
