Westport National Bank Holds a Trailer Size Food Drive

The Westport National Bank announced today that they are partnering with the Westport-based social service housing agency, Homes with Hope, to help feed local area residents in need.  Robin Clark, Branch Manager said that last year’s food drive was a great success and fulfills the Bank’s desire to undertake a volunteer project in the community which will have meaningful results. The goal is to fill up a trailer with non-perishable food items between August 1st and August 19th.  Ms. Clark has requested that donors drop off food items to Westport National Bank located at 1495 Post Road East in Westport during normal business hours.  For donors who don’t have time to shop they can make a cash donation and the Bank will do the shopping for you.  For details on the food drive or a list of needed items contact Robin Clark at (203) 319-6260 or rclark@westportnational.com.

Jeff Wieser, President of Homes with Hope, shared that the summer months are the toughest to keep the pantry filled with much needed food.  “Westport National Bank’s very ambitious food drive comes at the perfect time for us. Not only is August, when everyone is away on vacation, a tough month to keep our shelves full, demand this year has been greatly in excess of previous years. We are very low on food supplies for the many community residents who depend on us.” The Food Pantry is located at Homes with Hope’s Gillespie Center 45 Jesup Road,
