Westport Duffer Launches Novel, Sweetspot: Confessions of a Golfaholic

Sweetspot: Confessions of a Golfaholic! Not just for golfers, a packed house turned out last night to hear author John O'Hern share hilarious anecdotes and read excerpts from his new novel.

A packed house turned out last night at the Write Yourself Free Writer’s Room in Westport to hear author/actor/storyteller John O’Hern share hilarious eye-witness accounts of desperate golfers trying to get their next fix on the course. Following his performance John read excerpts from his new novel, Sweetspot: Confessions of a Golfaholic.

The book written from the point of view of the addict golfer and his suffering wife had the crowd convulsing with laughter as the golfers recognized themselves and their spouses recognized their mates!

In the Q and A that followed John shared the creative process of turning his play of the same name into the novel and how the writing workshops at Write Yourself Free led by Tish Fried and Patrick McCord helped him turn his dream into reality.

Next, John will be on the golf club circuit honing his particular brand of humor and sharing additional excerpts from the book in an effort to sustain the starved golfing community during the winter months away from the fairways and greens.
