After some in-depth soul searching and a careful analysis of the candidates in the upcoming race for Westport's First Selectman, I offer my heartfelt endorsement to Helen Garten as I honestly believe she is best for Westport.

As many of you know, I had the honor of serving Westport on the Board of Selectman during which time I had the opportunity to see just how local government works. From that perspective, I've come to the conclusion that Helen is the right candidate for the position of First Selectman. As chairman of the Board of Finance, she has already demonstrated her highly effective management skills and an unmatched understanding of town finances. She passionately cares about Westport and concensus building. I hope that enough of you agree to ensure Helen Garten's election victory in November.
