Car Crashes into Stone Wall, Two Sent to Hospital

The Westport Fire Department responded to the scene with Westport Police and EMS.

At 7:53 p.m. Saturday, the Westport Police and Fire Departments and EMS responded to a one-vehicle accident where a car crashed into a wall, leaving the driver unconscious.

Westport Fire responded with an Engine from Coleytown Station 6, a Rescue and the Shift Commander's vehicle from Fire Headquarters.

When firefighters arrived, they found a single car crashed into a stone wall and the driver was on the ground with CPR in progress by a Westport EMT. Westport Fire assisted with the CPR and packaging the patient for transport to Norwalk Hospital. The passenger of the car received minor injuries and was being attended to while sitting in a Westport Police car. A second Westport ambulance transported the passenger to Norwalk Hospital as well.

Firefighters remained on the scene to assist with lighting for investigation until the vehicle was removed by Westport Service Center. The last fire department unit left the scene at 11 pm. The scene is under investigation by the Westport Police Department and the condition of the patients are unknown at this time.
