Early Morning Accident on I-95 South Sends Two to Hospital

Heavy front, back-end damage on the vehicles, report states

A two-car motor vehicle accident that occurred on I-95 south between Exits 17 and 16 at about 3:17 a.m. July 17 reportedly resulted in both drivers being transported to Norwalk Hospital by Westport EMS with minor injuries.

According to a report from Assistant Chief John Plofkin, Jr., Shift Commander, Westport Fire Department, firefighters responded to the scene and found two cars with heavy front and rear-end damage located in the breakdown and slow speed travel lanes approximately a half mile before the Exit 16 off ramp.

Westport EMS transported the drivers while firefighters cleaned up spilled fluids from the roadway. Firefighters reportedly remained on scene until both vehicles were towed.

The Connecticut State police are reportedly investigating the cause of the accident.
