New Haven Pair Arrested for Motor Vehicle Theft, Possession

Police say New Haven pair nabbed with stolen car, crack cocaine

Justin Booker, 25, and Jennifer Blackmer, 27, both of New Haven were arrested and charged with third degree larceny, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia on Wednesday, June 15.

According to police, an officer on patrol observed a vehicle pull into the BP gas station at Post Road East and Maple Avenue South at around 1:40 a.m. The officer saw a male operator get out of the vehicle, go inside the station, and then get back into the vehicle. When the officer ran the plate on the vehicle, it came back as stolen out of Waterbury.

The two occupants of the vehicle, Booker and Blackmer, were taken into custody. Police said during a search, a pipe commonly used to smoke crack cocaine was found on Booker and a small plastic bag of what appeared to be a white crack cocaine type substance was located in the compartment of the passenger door. Police said a second crack pipe was located in a pocketbook belonging to Blackmer.
