Police: 1 Brother Stabs Another in Head with Scissors

A 36-year-old Taiwan man, visiting Westport with his brother, got into a fight and stabbed his brother, Westport police said.

An argument between two brothers, both visiting from Taiwan, turned not just violent but bloody on Thursday when one stabbed the other in the head, police said.

Westport police gave this account (an accusation not proven in court) of the incident):

The siblings were visiting on Sherwood Farms Lane when one, Ya-Tung Liu, 36, took a pair of scissors and stabbed the other one, Ta-Pang Liu, 37, in the head.

Westport police, called to the house on the report of a fight, spoke with family members, who told police about the fight and stabbing.

Police then went to Norwalk Hospital, where family members had taken Ta-Pang Liu, and spoke with him. He confirmed to police that his brother had stabbed him in the head with the scissors.

Ta-Pang Liu was treated at the hospital and released Friday morning.

Ya-Tung Liu was charged with second-degree assault and initially held on $10,000 bond. He appeared Friday in state Superior Court in Norwalk.

His brother, Ta-Pang, was charged with breach of peace and released on a promise to appear Friday in the same court.
