Tree Falls on Pumpkin Hill Road House

The Westport Fire Department responded to numerous calls today for downed trees and wires because of the windy conditions.

The Westport Fire Department responded to numerous calls today for downed trees, electrical wires and electrical transformers with activated breakers, according to a news release.

The extremely windy conditions caused the trees and wires to fall, according to the department.

One of the most serious calls was a tree that fell on a house at 11 Pumpkin Hill Road.

The Fire department responded with a Rescue, Engine and Command vehicle. Firefighters checked the interior of the residence and damage appeared to be minimal. No one was injured in the home.

The exterior of the premises had a large tree uprooted which severed a utility  pole and brought down all utility wires and the tree onto the roof of the premises.
