Westport Man Arrested Via Warrant for Larceny, Forgery, Interfering

Westport police reports for July 18-20

The following arrest information was provided by the Westport Police Department. It does not indicate convictions.

Christopher Dohme, 23, of Maplewood Avenue was arrested via warrant and charged with interfering with an officer, sixth degree larceny and third degree forgery on July 18.

According to police Dohme was picked up on two separate warrants stemming from “two different but related incidents” that occurred in town. Police said on May 28 Dohme stole checks from a Westport resident, signed the victim’s name and cashed them. The sum was $960.00. After viewing bank surveillance photos of the fraudulent transaction, the victim was able to identify Dohme, who she personally knew, police said. A warrant was issued for his arrest.

Police said on June 23, an officer on ptarol, knowing there was an outstanding warrant for Dohme, spotted him walking south on Main Street in the area of Willowbrook Cemetery. Police said as the officer turned his vehicle around, Dohme ran into the cemetery and could not be located. Police said Dohme later called police headquarters and stated he would turn himself in, but never did. A warrant was then applied for and issued for interfering with an officer.

After being picked up by police on Monday, Dohme was held on bond and was transported to Norwalk Superior Court on Tuesday morning for arraignment. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 28.

Other reports:

Valerie Laguerre, 28, of Bridgeport, was arrested and charged with failure to appear in court on July 19. According to police an officer on patrol observed a gray Honda traveling north on I-95 between Exits 17 and 18 at a high rate of speed in the center travel lane. Police said when the officer ran the car’s plate he learned of a warrant for Laguerre’s arrest for failure to appear. After stopping the vehicle, Laguerre was taken into custody. Police said the original charges stem from motor vehicle violations in Darien that she failed to appear in court for. Laguerre reportedly posted bond and is scheduled to appear in court on July 29.

Kyle Bradby, 39, of Milford, was arrested and charged with possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana on July 19. According to police an officer on patrol stopped Bradby’s vehicle on Post Road East for a motor vehicle violation. Police said the officer subsequently found marijuana in the vehicle. Based on Public Act 11-71 that became effective July 1, 2011, Bradby was issued an infraction with a payable fine of $150. Police said the marijuana weighed 4.1 grams.
