Westport Police Investigating Motorcycle Accident
Westport man suffered serious injuries after his motorcycle collided with a minivan just north of Route 1.
A Westport man suffered serious injuries after a motorcycle accident near Winslow Park Sunday afternoon.
Bart Valiant, 32, was traveling on Compo Road North just north of Route 1 on Sept. 15 at approximately 4:30 p.m. when a minivan collided with his 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle, according to police.
Valiant was found lying in the grassy area near the entrance to Winslow Park and was immediately given medical treatment. He was transported to Norwalk Hospital with serious injuries. Valiant has since been discharged, according to Norwalk Hospital officials.

A preliminary investigation into the crash found the operator of the minivan failed to yield the right of way and turned left in front of Valiant’s motorcycle. The operator of the minivan was not injured in the crash, according to police.
The crash remains under investigation by the Westport Police Department Accident Investigation Unit and the Patrol Division.
