Gov. Dannel P. Malloy asked for feedback on the state's laws, and that's exactly what he got.

Hundreds of comments came in from residents, businesses and organizations with their thoughts on the full spectrum of state laws, from taxes and hunting, to boating and driving, and a whole host of other topics.

All of the comments have been uploaded to the state's website, and we've embedded them with this article.

The flood of feedback was in response to a request from Malloy, as part of a review that he initiated to identify laws that are obsolete, duplicative, excessively burdensome, or otherwise ineffective or unnecessary.

According to a press release from Malloy's office, he intends on "utilizing the comments as a guide as he seeks to streamline state regulations across the board during the upcoming legislative session." State departments and agencies have also been conducting an ongoing internal review of regulations, the release states.

“Engaging the public in a conversation about state regulations is an important component in our efforts to make state government more efficient, more transparent and more responsive to Connecticut citizens and businesses,” Malloy said.

The Governor's Office said legislation on this effort will be filed following the start of the regular session of the General Assembly, which begins Feb. 5.
