Westport Little Leaguers to Participate in U.N. Day
Event takes place at Westport Town Hall on Oct. 24
Coach Tim Rogers and members of the Westport Little League baseball team who represented New England in the 2013 Little League World Series will participate in the United Nations Day observance on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 4 p.m. at the Westport Town Hall.
“The program will highlight the team members’ experiences in competing against teams from other countries,” said United Nations Hospitality Committee Chair Bill Hass.
In observance of United Nations Day -- the anniversary of the U.N.’s founding on Oct. 24, 1945 -- the flags of United Nations Member States will fly on the Ruth Steinkraus Cohen Memorial Bridge in Westport on Oct. 24, according to Hass.
