Still Time To Fly

The ConnectiKiters club are hosting two events before the end of the season.

September 26th was the last Wednesday evening fly at Sherwood Island.  The ConnectiKiters, however, are hosting two events before the end of the season.  The first, “One Sky One World,” will be held on Sunday October 14th at Savin Rock, West Haven from 11:00am to 4:00pm.  This event is celebrated by kiters worldwide, so come and help us fill our portion of the sky!  The second and final event of the year will be the Veterans Day Fly.  Club members will meet on Sunday, November 11th at Hammonasset State Park, Madison from 11:00am to 4:00pm to honor all war veterans.  All are welcome to join in the fun at both.

In addition to holding club events throughout the year, club  members fly kites for other gatherings.  Recently, we were asked to entertain residents of Meadow Ridge in Redding.   Generally, flying kites inland can be difficult due to the surrounding trees that disturb wind patterns.  However, Meadow Ridge is located on top of a hill which makes flying a little easier.  Fortunately, I was able to capture the day on video and post it on Youtube.  Click on the following link to
watch the video:  www.youtube.com/watch?v=OFFwnpB8WeY   You will see that residents participated in the kite flying and a good time was had by all!

Although the Wednesday night event is over at Sherwood Island, I will try to get down to the beach whenever possible throughout the fall and winter months.  As I have mentioned in previous blogs, there is no season for kite flying!
