Dinosaur Night at Sherwood Island State Park

The Friends of Sherwood Island State Park will host a program titled "Dinosaurs in Connecticut" on Thursday July 15 at 6:00 pm in the Nature Center.

Meg Enkler, Environmental Education Coordinator from Dinosaur State Park in Rocky Hill, will tell about the dinosaurs that roamed the Connecticut Valley 200 million years ago and about changes in life on earth through time.

The program, free and open to all, will feature dozens of early Jurassic fossils from Connecticut and other locations. The fossils will be passed around for close-up examination, and there will be handouts for all participants. A smaller sampling of fossils is installed now in a special showcase in the Nature Center.
