Forum on 'Total' Taxes

Westport Tea will host an informative, lively, fact-based and startling group discussion examining the total taxes you pay, and are about to pay.  Westport Tea asks the question: "How much in taxes are you actually paying?" Westport Tea believes people should know and care.  Attendees will be offered facts, articles, an illustrative example and a check list of how to easily figure your own "total taxes."  Attendees will also learn how to get involved and have the chance to offer topics for future discussions. This topic specific forum is open to the public and will be held in the McManus Room in the lower level Community Space of the Westport Public Library on Thursday, July 29, between 7:30 pm and 8:45 pm.

Westport Tea members value: 1) Fiscal Responsibility, 2) Limited Government and 3) Capitalism.  We are united in our values and our belief in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution of the United States of America and the Bill Of Rights. Our mission is to support these values and beliefs by enabling like-minded citizens in Westport (and its sister cities) to easily become informed on the issues and participate in the political process; it is more important than ever that you are and do so.

Westport Tea members are just like you. We might have missed voting in an off-year election or two. We probably aren't much of a protester, at least not recently.  We might be disenfranchised by our State and Federal officials. Perhaps we are, like the majority of our town's residents, registered Independents. Or you might just be you, someone who has had enough, isn't defined by one particular 'party' is ready to learn more, get involved and help.
