Westport Rotary Hosts RTM 'Are You Drinking Recycled Wastewater?'

This week, two Westport rotary clubs share guest speakers who plan to address, "Are You Drinking Recycled Wastewater?"

Members of the Westport Representative Town Meeting's (RTM) Septic Education Task Force Jonathan Steinberg and Helen Martin-Block will speak to Westport's two rotary clubs this week on septic tank awareness - how the tanks function and how beneficial septic systems are to the Westport residents who have them, and to their neighborhoods and the environment at large.

The first talk is scheduled at noon Tuesday, April 13, at the Westport Rotary Club at the Inn at Longshore. Guests are welcomed.

The second talk will take place at 7:30am Friday, April 16, at the Westport Sunrise Rotary Club breakfast meeting held at Bobby Q's Restaurant, 42 Main Street, Westport.  There is a $20 fee for the April 13 meeting, which includes lunch, and a $12 fee for the April 16 meeting, which includes a breakfast buffet.

Steinberg is co-chair of the Westport RTM's Septic Education Task Force, a position he shares with fellow RTM representative Diane Cady.  Martin-Block serves as creative director of the task force.

The Septic Education Task Force was formed by the Town of Westport to inform the septic-owning residential public in Westport about these systems, the care and management of them, and the vital part they play in the town's water supply.
