Charley's Ride

JoyRide Cycling Studio has announced the launch of registration for Charley’s Ride - a 3-hour indoor cycling fundraiser for The Charley With a Y Foundation, an organization dedicated to the support of fallen and wounded marines. Participants can register online at www.joyridewestport.com starting today.

The Charley With a Y Foundation was created by the family of Charles Rochlin (Charley), a U.S. Marine and graduate of Staples High School, who was killed in a 2009 automobile accident while on leave after a tour of duty in Iraq.  Charley, a lifelong hockey player and student athlete, was just 24 years old.

“The most important thing to Charley was family.  And what he loved most about being a marine was the sense of camaraderie.  It was a tight knit group that would do anything to help one another.  To him, it was a second family.  As a result, the goal of this foundation is to honor Charley’s spirit and help those marine families in need,” said Brittany Rochlin, Charley’s sister and co-founder of The Charley With a Y Foundation.
