Hirschberg Advances To Class LL Tennis Final
The top seed will face No. 2 Tom O'Brien of Fairfield Prep for the singles title.
Top seed Daniel Hirschberg moved into the finals of the CIAC Class LL state tournament with another easy win Tuesday at Conard High School.
The Staples junior defeated No. 4 Tyler Kratcky of Greenwich, 6-2, 6-2, in the semifinals.
Hirschberg, who has lost a mere six games in his first five matches in the tournament, was named to the all-state team. He will face No. 2 seed Tom O'Brien of Fairfield Prep in the singles final, which begins at 3:3o p.m. today at Conard.

With only the singles and doubles finals remaining, Staples is third in the Class LL team competition with 17 points, trailing Greenwich (24) and Fairfield Prep (23).
