Casey Bang made 15 saves for Trumbull-Staples, which outshot West Haven by a 47-19 margin.

Trumbull-Staples jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one period, then led 4-2 after two before putting away the contest with four goals in the third period.
The team is back in action on Monday against defending state champion and undefeated New Canaan.
