Westport Scores and Standings: Nov. 1

No. 2 Staples takes on No. 8 seed New Canaan in the semifinals of the FCIAC boys soccer playoffs on Wednesday. Game time is 5 p.m. and is the opener of a semifinal doubleheader at Fairfield Ludlowe.

No. 2 seed Trumbull and No. 3. seed Darien meet in the second game at 7 p.m.

Staples, which is seeking a fourth consecutive FCIAC title,  advanced with a 1-0 win over Greenwich. New Canaan stunned Norwalk 2-1, marking the second straight year that the Rams upset the top-seeded Bears in the quarterfinals.

The championship game, originally scheduled for McMahon, now will be played at Fairfield-Ludlowe on Friday at 7 p.m.

The FCIAC has announced that the field hockey quarterfinals will be played on Wednesday  at two sites: McMahon and Fairfield-Warde

McMahon: Stamford vs. Staples, 5 p.m., Westhill-Darien, 7 p.m.

At Warde: Norwalk-New Canaan, 5 p.m., Ludlowe-Wilton, 7 p.m.

The semifinals at set for New Canaan on Thursday (5 and 7 p.m.) with the finals pushed back until Saturday at 10 a.m. at McMahon.

The start of the FCIAC girls volleyball playoffs have been delayed until Thursday. Here are the quarterfinal matchups (all at 4 p.m.):
