Route 1 traveling east and west over the Saugatuck River was backed up Thursday while repairs were made to the Bridge Street Bridge in Saugatuck.
Furthermore, a new sidewalk was being installed on Riverside Avenue and on the Post Road in front of Art's Deli and Arezzo.
Traffic was also backed up on Wilton Road, heading south towards Post Road West, and on Riverside Avenue traveling north.
"We're still open for business," said Joy Lagano, an employee at Arezzo.
Arezzo, which had its front entrance blocked due to the construction, can be accessed by using the rear entrance on the west bank of the Saugatuck River, Lagano said.
