'Smokin Blues and Family Fun' Come to Westport This Weekend

The sixth annual Blues, Views & BBQ Festival runs Saturday and Sunday on Jesup Green.

Westport's sixth annual Blues, Views & BBQ Festival will pop up on Jesup Green this weekend. The festival combines the" best of what is essential in a family event: great music, delicious food and old-fashioned fun," a release from the organizers states.

Fans of Blues music, this is your weekend. Some of the best Blues performers in the business -- Royal Southern Brotherhood, Cactus, Chrstine Ohlman, and more -- will headline the two-day event.

As you listen to the live music, make sure you're chowing down on barbecue from Bobby Q's, meatballs by the Local Meatball, Rolling Cones' ice cream, and an array of food from other vendors.

There will be a BBQ, gourmet and specialty food marketplace and a food court filled with wood-fired, grilled and roasted food, handcrafted beer, premium liquor, wine, and other refreshments, according to the release.

A Kansas City Barbeque Society competition will crown the King or Queen of the backyard smokers in the “Cookin’ for a Cause” contest with proceeds benefitting The Westport Woman’s Club’s Food Closet.
