VIDEO: CL&P Restores Power on Compo Road in Westport

High winds and heavy rain brought down trees and power lines throughout Westport Thursday morning.

Several roads were either closed, or restricted to one-way access while tree and power crews cleaned up the mess and restored power. More than 3,000 CL&P customers in Westport were without power at about 9 a.m. and several major traffic lights were reduced to stop signs.

At 5:30 p.m. more than 700 (six percent) CL&P customers were still without power in Westport.
