Westport CVS Attempted Robber Has Case Continued

The 20-year-old Danbury man's crimes stretch beyond Westport.

Brendan Steven Kravarik appeared in Norwalk Superior Court Monday, but had his case continued until May 17 while he remains in custody in lieu of $110,000 bond for various court files.

According to the State of Connecticut Judicial Branch website, the 20-year-old Danbury resident is a convicted felon and has a lengthy criminal history. He was sentenced on burglary-related charges in 2010 to one year in jail followed by three years probation, which he is currently in jeopardy of violating with several other pending charges.

Kravarik currently has eight court files pending in Danbury Superior Court and Norwalk Superior Court for various charges, including a March incident that resulted in him being arrested on strangulation and assault charges, according to Connecticut's Judicial Branch website.

Kravarik's bad expirience in Danbury began on March 27 when a bailsbondsman led him into the Danbury Police Department in handcuffs. The bondsman turned Kravarik in on a warrant charging Kravarik with third-degree assault, criminal mischief, threatening and second-degree strangulation. When officers started to process Kravarik, they found five more warrants outstanding.

The  Detective Bureau charged Kravarik in Norwalk Superior Court April 5 with second-degree criminal attempt at robbery and sixth-degree criminal attempt at larceny for his alleged crime in Westport.

On January 23 at about 7:15 p.m. a female Weston resident was exiting  when  and dragging her a short distance, police said. The victim began screaming and the suspect let go of the handbag and entered a vehicle that was leaving the scene, according to the police report.

 and over the course of the investigation Westport police developed information on a suspect. On February 27 an arrest warrant was secured for Kravarik.
