Westport Hosts Transit Forum for Seniors, People with Disabilities

The Citizens Transit Committee hopes that many seniors and residents with a disability will join them at the Westport Center for Senior Activities on Oct 4.

 

Westport Citizens Transit Committee chair Jim Ross announced today that a transit forum will be held on Thursday, Oct. 4, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Westport Center for Senior Activities, 21 Imperial Avenue.

All Westport seniors and people with disabilities are invited to attend the focus meeting to discuss the current transit services, including the door-to-door service.  A conversation with seniors and people with disabilities is planned about what is working and what are some ideas for future services.

“We look forward to an interesting dialogue with Westport seniors about their needs and the transit services,” said Ross.  “It is theCitizens Transit Committee’s purpose to gain valuable information from residents and users of the transit service to prepare the Westport Transit Directors for their next budget planning session.”

The Citizens Transit Committee hopes that many seniors and residents with a disability will join them at the Westport Center for Senior Activities on Oct 4.  Light refreshments will be served.
