Child Turned Over to DCF in Westport After Police Find Evidence of Abuse

Westport police officers were called to the disturbance Wednesday morning.

charged two New York residents after a reported domestic disturbance turned up illegal drugs and photos of the two-year-old child being restrained in a chair with duct tape, police said.

Officers responded to 28 Bridge Street at 10 a.m. Wednesday morning to find that the disturbance took place in front of the child, the son of Delacruz, according to a police report. The investigation turned up the narcotics, which resulted in the two-year-old being turned over to the Department of Children and Families, police said. The photographs of the child being restrained were located through further investigation.

Police charged Patrizio Arciola, 34, of Morton Street, New York, New York, and Gerriely Delacruz, 23, of Lake Avenue, Staten Island New York, with reckless endangerment, two counts of risk of injury to a child, first-degree unlawful restraint and disorderly conduct. Arciola was also charged with possession of narcotics.

Both individuals were held on $100,000 bond for arraignment in Norwalk Superior Court today.
