A woman who allegedly attempted to steal two dolls from Stop and Shop on Thursday was arrested and held on bond, according to a police report.
Westport police charged 43-year-old Lori Fredericks, of Bridgeport, with sixth-degree larceny after a man informed Stop and Shop management that she might have been attempting some sort of scam because he had observed her acting suspicious in two other stores in town, police said.
Stop and Shop security witnessed Fredericks conceal two dolls in a plastic bag and then exit the store while making no attempt to pay for the merchandise. She was unable to post a $500 bond and was taken to Norwalk Superior Court for arraignment, police said.
