UPDATE: Westport Man Allegedly Makes Threats to Crumbs Bake Shop Employees

The suspect was allegedly banging on the windows and doors of the business after being denied entry after it was closed for the night, police said.

 

Officers responded Wednesday to a report of a man trying to break into Crumbs Bake Shop, police said.

The suspect was allegedly banging on the windows and doors of the business after being denied entry when the store was closed for the night, police said. He was also yelling threats to the employees who were still inside, according to the arrest report.

The man took off in his car before officers arrived, but police were able to locate the suspect and stop him following the alleged incident, according to the arrest report.

Westport police charged 36-year-old William Lyons, of 5 Canal Park Road, Westport, with threatening and breach of peace. He was taken custody and later released after posting a $1,000 surety bond.
