Westport Man Arrested For Car Crash, False Statement

The suspect reported a vehicle stolen, but the police investigation revealed that he had been operating the vehicle when it rolled over, according to police.

Westport police charged 23-year-old Kyle Dexheimer, of 61 Morningside Drive South, with reporting a false statement, interfering with an officer, evading responsibility and other charges following an accident in August that he was allegedly involved in.

Dexheimer reported a vehicle stolen, but the police investigation revealed that he had been operating the vehicle when it rolled over on Long Lots Road and struck a stone wall and a road sign, police said.
