Westport PD Arrest Bridgeport Woman Cashing Fraudulent Check at Chase Bank

The woman told police she was cashing the check for a friend who was going to give her a portion of the cash in return.

 

Belynda Constant, 26, of Bridgeport was charged Friday morning with fourth-degree larceny, sixth-degree larceny, second-degree forgery and criminal impersonation after police caught her trying to cash a fraudulent check at the at 188 Post Road West.

located Constant in the lobby of the bank and took her into custody. She told officers that her friend, an unknown person, gave her the $1,760 check to cash and in return she would get a portion of the cash, police said.

She was unable to post $2,000 bond and was arraigned in Norwalk Superior Court Monday morning.
