Westport Residents Invited to Oktoberfest Event With Former Governor Jodi Rell

Westport residents will have the opportunity to meet candidates for office at the fifth annual Westport Republican Candidate Meet and Greet with special guest Governor Jodi Rell. 

Voters are invited to attend the event featuring authentic German food, German beer on tap, wine and soft drinks.

A special awards ceremony and a silent auction featuring items including the use of vacation homes in Vermont and Cape Cod, tickets to the Yankees, Knicks and Rangers, gift baskets, fine wines, and other terrific merchandise will also be held. 

Westporters will have the chance to meet federal, state and local Republican candidates, including candidates running for Westport’s Town Boards and Commissions. Other invited guests include Ambassador Tom Foley, Linda McMahon, Congressman Chris Shays, and State Senator Toni Boucher. 

“This is a terrific forum where the candidates and the community can discuss all of the issues in advance of this important election,” noted Bob Zappi, Chairman of the Westport Republican Town Committee.  “The Candidate Meet and Greet has been one of our most popular events because it is both informative and fun.  We look forward to another enjoyable gathering where Westporters and our candidates can take part in an open exchange of ideas.”      

The event will be held from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Westport Woman’s Club at 44 Imperial Avenue. The event cost is $35 in advance or $40 at the door.  Please make checks payable to: Westport RTC, P.O. Box 601, Westport, CT 06881. Dress code is business casual.
